HTML, or HyperText Markup Language, is the most widely used language for creating webpages. It is a very simple language to learn and provides relative flexibility. The World Wide Web itself was created in a matter of only 7 days by Tim Berners-Lee and the language was created during that time to allow him to post and access files through the universal network. The only real restriction of HTML is its inability to create dynamic pages, the pages remain static and unchanging. Many new languages have been developed though that give the HTML pages dynamic content such as drop down menus and interactive content. Knowing HTML and owning a computer are the only requirements for creating a webpage so you have come to the right place. This series of tutorials will begin with the very basics of HTML and progress into more advanced features. |
